I found myself in San Francisco for work back in March 2024. Waking up on a Saturday morning, I did a Google search for "Beach Volleyball San Francisco" and was pleased to find the one sand court in the city, situated under a bridge. I drove over that morning, and upon arriving, found a couple young people warming up. They were nice enough to let me join them, so we played 3 games of 3 v 2 and had a lot of fun, as one does when playing volleyball. After they left, another group of players showed up, and I got in another couple games under the bridge. Absolutely loved playing on this court. What a place to play if it were raining...you could play all day because it's under a bridge!

Nice sand court, lighting is not that great for night games. Only about 3 foot high wooden fence close to the canal, makes it easy to lose volleyball, but it is a nice place to play. Here are some of the teams who enjoy playing here:9

Great spot next to the channel with 3? basketball courts and a half court. I've been coming here to practice my rollerblading, and there's a spot between the volleyball court and the half court where you're not bothering anyone or taking up a court. Decent amount of grass to run my dog, too :)

Lovely courts tucked right under the highway. Great spot to play, but fair warning it is annoying and painful (woodchips) to retrieve the ball it flies out of the court
